PUBLIC MEETING #2
The second Public Meeting for the Bath NYF project will be held
September 11, 2025 at 6:00pm at the Bath Fire Station, 50 E Morris St. Bath, NY 14810 .
For those of you that are not able to attend in person, we have virtually replicated the experience of attending the public
meeting in-person and will collect input through Thursday, September 18, 2025 on this website.

NYF VISION FROM APPLICATION
The vision statement describes the community’s desired future and provides a guiding
framework for the Bath’s Strategic Investment Plan and decision-making regarding
future development and investment in the community. The vision statement is shown
below, please add your feedback.
Goals & Strategies
GOAL:
Transform Bath’s downtown into a vibrant, walkable hub with attractive public spaces and a mix of uses that encourage foot traffic and community gathering.
Strategies:
- Increase accessibility so all visitors including pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists can enjoy the downtown.
- Enhance the safety, comfort, and appearance of downtown’s streets by implementing streetscape improvements, such as adding street trees, curb bump-outs, benches, bike racks, landscaping, and other amenities.
- Support public and private investment to increase walkability and safety.
- Install wayfinding signage to direct people to key downtown assets and parking areas.
- Create small-scale public gathering spaces for year-round, casual use.
GOAL:
Leverage Bath’s historic and community assets and proximity to Keuka Lake to strengthen tourism, promote local heritage, and attract new visitors year-round.
Strategies:
- Create a recognizable brand and logo for the Village of Bath.
- Encourage private sector investment to attract individuals off Keuka Lake including evening activities.
- Encourage the installation of public art to create unique attractions and spaces.
- Collaborate with local historians and artists to develop themed retail and dining shops featuring historical photos and stories displayed in store fronts.
- Establish a committee to organize events and activities, especially in the evening hours.
- Support the creation of lodging opportunities in the downtown.
GOAL:
Re-invest in the downtown area especially facades and building structures to preserve and protect these buildings and foster growth.
Strategies:
- Promote the restoration and adaptive re-use of downtown buildings and ensure development protects Bath’s historic assets.
- Encourage infill development to create a diverse mix of uses and business opportunities.
- Create a grant fund to help business owners with small projects in the downtown.
- Discourage the demolition or alteration of historic buildings or buildings that contribute to Bath’s character.
GOAL:
Foster a strong local economy for small businesses, start-ups, and creative enterprises to grow and succeed downtown.
Strategies:
- Support targeted investments in the building stock to create vibrant spaces for new and relocated businesses.
- Prioritize appropriate infill development and upgrades to existing vacant retail spaces for new downtown uses.
- Collaborate with organizations to facilitate educational opportunities for downtown property owners on available business incentives and programs.
GOAL:
Diversify and add housing options to the downtown to attract and retain residents.
Strategies:
- Create safe beautiful connections between buildings with apartments and parking areas.
- Support conversion of vacant or underutilized upper floors into residential units.
- Ensure downtown housing options meet a range of needs including affordability, unit size, and tenure.
- Support the redevelopment of buildings and infill development for new housing.
