NY Forward (NYF) was launched in 2022 to support a more equitable downtown recovery for New York’s smaller communities, with a focus on hamlets, villages, and neighborhoodscale commercial centers.

Program Goals
- Enhance downtown living and quality of life
- Create an active downtown with a mix of uses
- Provide diverse employment opportunities for a variety of skill sets and salary levels
- Create diverse housing options for all income levels
- Provide enhanced public spaces that serve those of all ages and abilities
- Grow the local property tax base
- Encourage the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions
NYF PLANNING PROCESS
A Local Planning Committee (LPC) will work with the consultant team, state planners, and key municipal representatives to create a community-based vision and Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) for revitalizing the Village of Bath.

Transform Bath’s downtown into a vibrant, walkable hub with attractive public spaces and a mix of uses that encourage foot traffic and community gathering.
Leverage Bath’s historic and community assets and proximity to Keuka Lake to strengthen tourism, promote local heritage, and attract new visitors year-round.
Re-invest in the downtown area especially facades and building structures to preserve and protect these buildings and foster growth.
Foster a strong local economy for small businesses, start-ups, and creative enterprises to grow and succeed downtown.
Increase housing options for market-rate renters in the downtown area.
